Pramono Supports Indonesia to Host Olympics 2036

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung supports the plan of Indonesia to host Olympics 2036. It was stated by Pramono while attending the Indonesian Olympic Committee Members Meeting 2025, at Fairmont Jakarta Hotel, Tuesday (4/22).

I give my support

During the meeting, Pramono directly conveyed his support to the General Chair of the Indonesian Olympic Committee, Raja Sapta Oktohari.

"I give my support to Okto as President of the Indonesian Olympics to improve sports achievements, especially sports that will be held in Jakarta," Pramono said.

Pramono Wants Jakarta to Become an International Sports Destination

Pramono also welcomed the holding of various sporting events in Jakarta. According to him, Jakarta is eyeing to become a world-class sports tourism destination.

"Jakarta really wants to be a sports tourism destination. So we invite big sporting events to be held in Jakarta," he added.

Moreover, Pramono ensured that the Jakarta Provincial Government remains committed to national sports activities. He emphasized Jakarta's readiness to host the XVII National Student Sports Week (POPNAS).

"It is planned to be held in North Sumatera and Aceh. But Jakarta is ready if the hosts lack of facilities," Pramono stated.
